New Holland NH2

New Holland Agriculture has announced the release of an updated NH2 hydrogen-powered fuel cell tractor, which was previewed at Hannover’s Agritechnica show last week.

Derived from the company’s T6.140 production tractor, the new NH2 is suitable for soil preparation, seeding, baling, transport and front loader applications. The updated model offers significant improvements over its predecessor, including: three fuel cell stacks with a combined output of 100 kW, up from two stacks and 50 kW; an 8.2 kg 350 bar hydrogen tank; double the rated power and torque of the on-board electric motors – 100 kW and 950 Nm, respectively; a maximum power output of 96%. These improvements bring the tractor in line with conventional tractors of the same size.

Lamborghini Nitro Tractor

Lamborghini recently revealed the 2013 Nitro tractor, which it was actually designed by Giugiaro. It's a bit unusual for such a high-end design house to work on a tractor, which basically needs to get the job done and not turn heads. However, Lamborghini wanted to create a powerful and stylish tractor, so they created the new Nitro. The new Lamborghini tractor comes with LED lights, a pretty rugged looking interior and an exterior that seems to come out of a Sci-Fi movie. To power the Nitro tractor, Lamborghini uses a 4-cylinder Deutz Tier 4i engine and either a 5-speed transmission or a 3-speed Powershift gearbox. Lamborghini's Nitro tractor is equipped with oil-immersed disc brakes, servo-assisted braking system and an optional Steering

McCormick X60.50

McCormick’s new X60 Series launches an innovative technological approach to the 80 to 120 HP tractor market. This new X60 series is McCormick’s technological evolution of the CX range, a qualitative leap towards even more reliable and performance-oriented machines. Thanks to the innovations adopted, X60 Series tractors are able to provide a performance that meets the professional users’ requirements, with the added attraction of a new level of comfort and an ultra-modern, aggressive look.

In actual fact, the new series is an original mixture of innovations that make driving relaxing, with easy to operate engines, unbeatable transmissions and total control of the implements.

With the X60.20, X60.30, X60.40 and X60.50 models, the new X60 range is the optimum choice for both light work and heavier duty open-field jobs. A higher ground clearance makes the tractors even more versatile, since they are ideal for a much wider variety of uses .

Landini 5H TIER 4

A strategic appointment of international proportions for Landini as it takes the opportunity to offer an increasingly more global glimpse of the intensive work project that will occupy the next two years.
Backed by a well-established “Made in Italy” policy, Landini continues its unceasing product development process with great attention to both the European and non-European markets.

The new 5D Tier 4 Interim Series is one of the innovations presented by Landini at Sima 2013, in a range that comprises three models, 90-100 and 110, with 85 to 102 HP power ratings. In this case, the machines feature innovative Perkins Tier 4 Interim 2-valve Common Rail engines, while Powerfarm tractors with Tier 3A engines will still be available for the non-European markets.

New Holland NH2 Hydrogen

New Holland Agriculture‘s NH2 tractor is a new zero emissions hydrogen fuel cell vehicle made specifically for farm work. Located at La Bellotta, an energy independent farm in Italy, New Holland claims this is more than just a green farming gimmick. The NH2 is one of the first alternative fuel farm tractors of its kind, and it allegedly doubles the power and torque of a traditional tractor of the same size despite being zero emissions.

The NH2 was developed from a Gold Medal Innovation award-winning concept at SIMA 2009 and made its official debut last month at the Agritechnica show in Hanover. The NH2 can work for up to 3 hours at a time, depending on the load, with performance that matches or exceeds modern combustion engined tractors. The price? Well, that might be an issue until these can be mass-produced to bring the cost down, but we’re happy to see someone is bringing farming into the 21st century. The NH2 produces only heat and water vapor for emissions, which is going to seem a lot more sensible to the conscious consumer than diesel fumes in the not too distant future.
