Deutz-Fahr Agrotron 6

Deutz Fahr Agrotron 7250 TTV

The new DEUTZ-FAHR Series 7 TTV range is targeted both at contractors and large scale farmers and offers tractors designed to provide reliability, efficiency and productivity. The range comprises three models: the 7210, 7230 and the 7250, the latter rated at a maximum of 263hp.

Power is provided by a new six-cylinder DEUTZ TCD 6.1 litres engine which meets the Stage lll B (Tier 4 interim) emissions requirements - exhaust gasses are treated by an SCR catalytic converter.

Engine design features include four valves per cylinder, centrally positioned injectors, a turbocharger, an intercooler and a waste gate along with DCR (DEUTZ Common Rail) high pressure fuel injection system operating at 2000 bar.

Maximum rated power is delivered at an engine speed of 1900 rpm and the power remains virtually constant between 1600 rpm and 2100 rpm.

Deutz Fahr Agrotron Track

The advantages of a crawler tractor are its ability to disperse its weight out over a much greater area than that of a wheeled tractor. In doing so, a crawler tractor does not compact the soil as much as a wheeled tractor. This is monumental in farming where the soil suffers from compaction. The disadvantage of a track vehicle lies in the complexity of the tracks and the expense in repair over that of a tire.

The new DEUTZ TIER 4i 24-valve Common Rail engines have been optimized in terms of performance and fuel consumption, now the exhaust gases can be treated by an entirely external system, with significant benefits in the areas of efficiency and environmental impact.

Deutz Fahr Agrotron M Natural Power

The “natural power” tractors with the Deutz engines are equipped with two fuel tanks. The main fuel tank holds canola oil and makes up about 80 to 90% of the tractor's fuel needs, according to Alexander Leopold, Same Deutz-Fahr marketing manager in Germany. A smaller additional tank holds ordinary diesel fuel.

The engine must start on diesel fuel until the oil is warmed up to a temperature where its viscosity is similar to that of diesel fuel. After the oil is warmed, the engine automatically switches to it. If the oil cools for any reason, the engine automatically switches back to diesel fuel. When shutting off the engine, the operator must switch back to diesel fuel for 30 sec. to clean the oil out of the engine.

Leopold says the design of Deutz's diesel engine allowed it to be easily changed to natural oil. The key is that Deutz cools injection pumps with engine oil whereas competitors use diesel fuel. The new engine needs extra filters and valves, but is basically the same diesel engine.
